Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By enrolling in classes or using services at KYU Taekwondo Australia, you ("Student" or "Parent/Guardian") agree to be bound by these terms of service. These terms apply to all students, parents, guardians, and visitors to our facilities.

2. Enrollment and Registration

2.1 Registration Requirements

  • Complete enrollment forms must be submitted before first class
  • Medical conditions affecting participation must be disclosed
  • Emergency contact information must be provided and kept current
  • Students under 18 require parent/guardian consent

2.2 Trial Classes

Free trial classes are offered to new students. Trial participants must complete a waiver form and provide emergency contact information before participation.

3. Payment Terms

3.1 Fees and Payment

  • Membership fees are payable monthly, quarterly, or annually as agreed
  • Payments are due at the beginning of each billing period
  • Late payments may incur additional fees and suspension of training privileges
  • All fees are non-refundable except as specified in our cancellation policy

3.2 Additional Costs

Grading fees, equipment, uniforms, and competition entry fees are separate from membership fees. These will be communicated in advance and require separate payment.

4. Attendance and Cancellation Policy

4.1 Class Attendance

  • Regular attendance is encouraged for optimal progress
  • Make-up classes may be available at instructor discretion
  • Students arriving more than 10 minutes late may not be admitted for safety reasons
  • We reserve the right to cancel classes due to weather, holidays, or unforeseen circumstances

4.2 Membership Cancellation

  • 30 days written notice required for cancellation
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
  • No refunds for partial months or unused classes
  • Medical exemptions may be considered with appropriate documentation

5. Safety and Conduct

5.1 Safety Guidelines

  • Students must follow all safety instructions and school rules
  • Appropriate training attire and protective equipment must be worn
  • Students train at their own risk and within their physical capabilities
  • Any injuries must be reported immediately to instructors

5.2 Code of Conduct

  • Respectful behavior towards instructors, staff, and fellow students
  • No bullying, harassment, or inappropriate conduct
  • Students may be suspended or dismissed for serious misconduct
  • Parents are responsible for their children's behavior on premises

6. Liability and Insurance

6.1 Assumption of Risk

Martial arts training involves inherent risks. Students and parents acknowledge these risks and participate voluntarily. Students are advised to maintain appropriate personal insurance coverage.

6.2 Limitation of Liability

KYU Taekwondo Australia's liability is limited to the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law. We maintain public liability insurance as required by law.

7. Intellectual Property

All training materials, curricula, and teaching methods are proprietary to KYU Taekwondo Australia and our Korean masters. Students may not record, photograph, or distribute training content without explicit permission.

8. Photography and Media Release

By participating in classes and events, students consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional purposes unless they specifically opt out in writing. We respect requests for privacy and will accommodate individual preferences.

9. Grading and Advancement

  • Grading opportunities are offered at instructor discretion based on readiness
  • Separate grading fees apply and are non-refundable
  • Belt rank recognition follows Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo) standards
  • Advancement is based on technical skill, knowledge, and character development

10. Facility Use

  • Training areas are for enrolled students during scheduled class times
  • Personal belongings are stored at owner's risk
  • Food and drinks are permitted in designated areas only
  • Smoking, alcohol, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms with 30 days notice. Continued participation after changes indicates acceptance of the updated terms. Major policy changes will be communicated directly to all active members.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by New South Wales law and subject to the jurisdiction of NSW courts. Any disputes will be resolved through good faith negotiation or mediation before legal proceedings.
